Breast Enlargement Before and After

Time in Surgery

A typical boob job is likely to last between 1 and 2 hours and is performed under general anaesthetic. The procedure involves the cosmetic surgeon inserting silicone implants through a small incision usually underneath the natural breast. Once the implants are positioned correctly the incision will be closed with sutures and a dressing will be applied and left in place for around 7 days. A post-operative consultation is required roughly 7 days after the boob job.

Possible Breast Augmentation Complications

If proper attention and care is not paid before breast enlargement it could lead to complications after surgery that could not only affect the health of the individual but could also be very costly. However, most clinics offer aftercare for patients.

After breast enlargement woman are required to rest for an extended period of time as the breast and nipple are likely to be very sensitive, swollen and in some cases very painful. A period of at least a week is advised for resting, however, more exerting requirements should be left alone for up to a month to let the breasts recover. The scarring left after breast enlargement will begin to fade and will continue to do so until it is barely noticeable.

While the majority of woman experience no problems after the boob job several complications that can arise after breast enlargement surgery.

Such complications include:

  • Internal tissue scarring.
  • Hardening of breasts.
  • Loss of sensation.
  • The shifting of implants.
  • Ripples and creases in the skin.
