Coolsculpting is a non-invasive procedure developed by Zeltiq to remove localised pockets of fat that prove stubborn to shift with exercise including areas around the back, abdomen and waist. Prices of Coolsculpting at clinics based around the UK vary according to the clinic used and the size of area being treated. Coolsculpting treatment on average will cost around £800 for smaller areas and £1500 for larger ones.
What is Coolsculpting
Coolsculpting uses cyrolipolysis to eliminate stubborn pockets of excess fat from a variety of areas around the body. This body sculpting treatment involves ‘fat-freezing’ in which unwanted areas of body fat are pressed between two cooling plates for 1-3 hours. In this time the fat cell lipids freeze allowing their remnants to be broken down naturally and be reabsorbed by the body. It is recommended that patients undergo at least two treatments of Coolsculpting to try and achieve best results.
Post procedure it is recommended that a patient keep to a healthy diet and exercise routine to preserve results. In some cases it has been recorded that patients have experienced up to 20% reduction of the fat layer treated which will be noticeable up to 2-3 weeks post treatment.
Potential Side Effects
There are no major side effects when undergoing the Coolsculpting procedure due to its non-invasive and non-surgical nature. Patients may experience temporary numbness, tingling sensations, redness and sensitivity around the treated area however these will subside 15-20 minutes after the treatment has been completed.
